Asaph

Grandpa and Asaph arrived yesterday evening after I got home from the library and Ephraim and I had just finished our leftovers and dry cheerios.
Ephraim and I had been giving the house a last-minute straightening. I don't know why, but we felt like the house had to be "clean". Now, in this house, "clean" isn't what you think. It means that all the nails and sheet rock we got off the boards have to be swept into a bucket and stowed behind something, and that all the boards we were working on are piled up higher than before on all sides of the living room, that the cans, electric stove, electric kettle and whatnot on the counter are pushed back and the half-counter that was cleared is wiped, that the trash is taken out and the bag re-hung on the wall, that there's a walkway to the bed that has no more than two cords and a hose stretched across it, and that there's space to stand in the bedroom itself amongst the shoes and more cords. Though it still looks like just as much a mess as before, it's as clean as it can be and we can't do better.
Well, we showed them around and fixed up our new fridge, and after Grandpa went over the mess of house thoroughly with Ephraim (I didn't stick around to listen) then he went to his hotel. Then we had a sweet time watching a Naruto episode together, eating Asaph's candied almonds and more cheerios, and commenting and filling Asaph in on some of the story. When we went to bed, Ephraim ended up taking the two camping-padding-things and sleeping on the bottom bunk--which is basically on the floor. I was surprised how much Asaph and Ephraim talked after I was too tired to do anything but fall asleep while they caught up. I just listened and then, as Asaph turned off the country radio, I fell asleep.
I would tell you all about today, how things were and how we started making a place where you can take baths and people can still get into the bedroom, but Asaph's a bit impatient since he's here at the library too. Anyway, it'd be much too long--already is! So, The End.
