all of us, adopted

We have just received our second donation. Yay!!

God's heart is for adoption.
All of you who belong to Him are His adopted children. It cost Him so much more to adopt us than it costs us to adopt and model His heart to the world! What a grand sermon we are preaching by helping the orphan, the prisoners, the widow etc. in whatever facet that God has gifted or led us.

Dossier goes to Liberia

I am happy to share our joyful thanksgiving with you today. Leon and I and all the children went together to send our accepted child referral to Angels Haven. Now our Dossier should be on it's way to Liberia today (Monday). "Thank you God for your provision."
Lord willing, we will be sharing our table, our chores, joys and sorrows with them in a few months and forever after. We are thankful for your prayers offered on behalf of the orphan, the needy and our family.

Even though the children are accepted, we still need about $17.000 before they can get on the plane to fly home. Please continue to pray for God's provision.

P.S Thank you for you chicken advice. Yes, we do have a heat lamp in the chicken coop, however it is not well insulated, perhaps they are too cold to lay eggs.

colorful friends

We have been unable to send the first $2,000 to send the Dossier to Liberia but, God has showing himself to us in many ways. We met a family in the area who has adopted 4 boys from Liberia. We spent the day with them. The family educated us about life for a child in Liberia and the joys and trials of bringing them home.
We left with an urgency to get our boys home safe and sound as quickly as we could. Leon and I hold this up to God with open hands. We desire only His will for our life. He has continued to move us through the years and we feel adoption to be a moral imperative for us and that we would be in open disobedience to give it up.

We had a wonderful Christmas! We were here at home with the Croteaus.
We were able to give each child one simple gift each. That was a lot of fun. The grandparents sent money ahead of time to be spent on books, inspirational dvd's, a stroller etc. My dad sent snow pants, woodworking stuff and clothes. My brother and some others sent some fun presents. So they had a lot of gifts to open but, not enough to make them unthankful. They also made each other hats and scarves etc. and they gave each other things that they had.
My favorite DVD so far is Lee Strobel's The Case For Christ. It's excellent.

Well, as far as our animals go: our 20+ chickens stopped laying so Mr. Croteau went out and bought a nice new trimming knife. We are even now anticipating chicken soup with home made bread. The goats have never given birth so we're ready to cut our losses and sell them. We hope to get a goat that's giving milk now. The children have always done all the goat and chicken care and it's been good for them.
