prayer request

There are children in Liberia that are in a desperate and lonely situation. We want to adopt them and give them a hope and a future. We are waiting to see if the Lord will begin providing the money. I can't say any more at this time.
Dear friends and family; please join us in praying for miracles of provision.
The Goodenough family.

orphans

We went to the Above Rubies family retreat. It was a very good time of edification. We hope to never miss it again. We had changed our plans from Liberia to Haiti because we were told that the Liberian adoptions were on pause. I was a bit discouraged when I started to look at the Dossier requirements. They were very extensive. At the retreat I was able to speak to several families who are also in the process of international adoption. One woman I spoke with had done Haitian adoptions and Liberian adoptions. After that weekend Leon and I decided to switch back to Liberia. Our agency, Angels Haven Outreach, called this Tuesday and reported that the pause is lifted with no additional requirements of the adopting family. The next day, (Wednesday), Angels Haven alerted me to siblings who were in a dire situation. My family and I have focused on prayer and bible reading and laying our lives down about this these last two days.

When I think of wars or economical collapse or something that may come to America and change the way we live, I think of my home being a refuge for the needy. I usually think of feeding and loving needy children. Like Corie Tenboom when she decided to give up her normal life and creature comforts to welcome Jews into her home.
But, we are not at this place right now.
I am still trying to serve God the most that I can without changing my life too much. What if I just tried to serve the Lord the most that I could.
He can use us even if we resist Him. I want Him to use us to the maximum.
Leon and I have accrued credit card debt since moving to Idaho. We ask God to provide for our needs such as oatmeal and clothes and he does but, there are good things that we want that God hasn't provided. We feel like he just WONT. We feel like he's opposing us. The bible says that God "opposes the proud but, gives grace to the humble". We have things that we could sell to pay off the debt. What if the reason that we haven't done it is pride. "Help us Lord, cure us from our pride."

The bible says that God "places the lonely in families". There are still orphans. Is God unfaithful? or is the body of Christ saying, "Not my family!"
