Leon and I and family will be in the Vancouver area this coming Tuesday through Thursday. We will be staying at the Swansons house in Woodland. We will be seeing grandparents and siblings on Tuesday and Thursday. We hope to see lots of our dear old friends all day Wednesday. We hope to see little Jasper one of the days.
On Friday we are going to X-fest to play music. That will be Yum Yum (6pm) as well as The Clergy(7pm).
Then we leave for my (Jennifers) family reunion at the Cannon Beach Conference Center. Then we come back home to get ready for some of you to visit us in Idaho. We don't have anyone scheduled yet, but, we hope too.

pictures
Thank you Ephraim (12) for putting these pictures on for me.
This is Naphtali Royal Courage. He is 3 now. This is Zuriel's birthday. She turned 6. Havilah is 10. She crotcheted the red hat for Zuriel in one day. The pictures were taken in our dinning room. Across the counter is the kitchen. When we look out that sliding door we see into the 5 acres of woods. Before the wood is the backyard. To the right is the garden and the goat yard.

Mama and Zuriel hug and kiss. Mama ga
ve Zuriel the scarf for her birthday. The scenery picture is what we see out the living room window or if we go out the front door. The road is Rourke rd. It was paved once and is very rough now. This keeps the only neighbor that drives past us from going fast. It is a dead end road. Before the road is a large grassy area that the kids use for soccer type games. We are considering using this for pasture.

Papa took Zuriel out and bought her an ice cream and a crown. Then they came back and we had healthy cake, and strawberries
.
Asaph is now 8 years born. You can see that juicer in the background. I still use it at least every other day. "Thanks dad".
I make these clothes. The boys shirts turn out too low cut. I just figured out how to make them better. We'll see.

Zuriel received a couple cards from her
Grandma and Grandpas. She opened them at our desert. Thanks Grandpas and Grandmas.
Other updates: We are playing some songs at the CASI adoption picnic. Our home study went very well and is being typed up for 1-2 children from Liberia. God gave us chickens, chicken stuff and a freezer this week. We also got a good, almost new mattress for $20 and a bunch of clothes for 5 cents a piece. Thank you God. We still need stuff for us and the new kids. I will try not to neglect reporting of all the Lords provisions.
We are coming to the Portland Vancouver area from August 27th through Labor day. We are playing a show at X-fest that Friday.
Most importantly, Nehemiah is now cooing his adoration to us with little to no coaxing. Have a great day! Snuggle your 12 year olds. If they resist, have a good wrestle with them. It's virtually the same thing.
Love, Jennifer

adoption, tomatoes and my tiny friend
Adoption Update: I just met our case worker and made a new friend. We just finished our home study with all the interviews and looking over our house etc. We have only to get the answer to an insurance question and buy a baby gate to put in front of the wood stove. The case worker said the rough draft of the home study would be done in about a week. Then if we don't find any mistakes she can print out the real thing. It will be about 9 pages long. It's been 10 1/2 years since I first knew we needed a home study before we could adopt. I can't believe we actually have it done!!(almost).
When we have the home study printed out we can send it with our dossier to Liberia. We are only waiting on God for one more thing before we can send the dossier. After that I think we just wait for a referral for 1-2 children They will send us information on several children and sibling groups and we can either accept them or ask for another set to choose from. Then we wait again. Then they will call and if it's possible Leon and I will both go to get our children and bring them home. If we are not able to do this, then just Leon will go or we will have them escorted. I think Leon will probably end up going alone but, we'll see.
Of course I am astounded with God: I've been learning something new lately. It's not profound but, I just never understood it before.
The reason we are to do good works is for God's own glory. It's not for the tomato plant to be proud of how excellent it's fruit is. The fruit only brings attention to the skill of the gardener. When God sees us grow and change into the likeness of His son Yshua, it brings glory to Himself not us. He is the gardener who was able to bring a good fruit out of the dark, cold ground.
Baby Nehemiah: He looks at me like I'm sooooooo great!! He opens his mouth and smiles with his whole face; his little pink tongue and big fat soft cheeks and tiny moist eyes. He coos and giggles a little. When I gaze back at him I long to be worthy of that gaze. I intend in my heart to be a better mama and friend. I decide even to walk taller and let my eyes shine more with my love.
