Lisa and updates

One of the Neighbors (I'll call her Lisa) came over and brought a gift bag of sugar, manjar, canned fish, packages of candy and cookies and a milk powder. Visitors here always bring a gift.
She asked us for the second time if we had religion. We told her the best we could with our limited Spanish. We basically told her that our confidence for salvation is only in Jesus and His work. She said that she had peace in her heart and that she tries to get better and better every day.   Leon told her that we all sin and the goodness that we can see in our selves is only Jesus in us. She didn't agree.

This happens a lot that someone will ask us what our religion is and we will tell them. They try to put a name on it and we don't cooperate. Then they ask us again the next time they see us.
She wanted to know about why we have all these children. She listened closely as we told them that the children were gifts from God and we say, "thank you God." Only God satisfies. This new friend has continued to be a regular visitor. She has brought many of her friends to meet us.  She has not been interested in taking about faith lately and she always comes to visit when she is sure the Sunday bible study is over.     Updates: We are going to try to sell doughnuts every Saturday. We just finished building a chicken tractor so that we can try making money incubating eggs and selling chickens. The outdoor orno is finished, the bathroom floor finished, and various other projects wrapped up.  The boys have been helping the neighbors and playing soccer with everyone. The girls go visiting and are preaching the gospel.

We all love living here; the lifestyle, and the people, our neighbors who are living the same way ( with admittedly smaller families :).
This has been an amazing adventure for us, learning Spanish, learning to die to our ideas of how things should be, learning how another culture thinks we should do things :) But God has been really providing for us in every way.
We want to bring the gospel to the people of Chile through our lives, words, and relationships. We pray we can be salt and light, a blessing to all our neighbors.
