power of the sun and water flows below

We are moving into a small cabin the first of February. The area is off of the grid so we are buying a solar power system with batteries and a generator. The other families in that community get their water trucked in to fill a water tank in a wooden tower next to the house. Our house has a tank also but the water is pretty expensive for a family of our size so I we are looking into having a well dug.

Each member of our family is very excited about moving there for many reasons. It will be a new phase of our life. The children will be learning about alternative forms of power, alternative ways to garden, build beds, cook, clean our clothes, have fun, and love our neighbors. We will also have lots of room to explore.

Renting in Chile was not possible for us because the laws make it difficult for property owners to rent to someone without a very strict standard of employment and income documentation. There is also no law against discrimination against potential tenants based on family size, and that is routinely practiced. We all believed that our time in Chile was not over so we bought the cabin on a large lot.

We have some good ideas of how we can work together as a family to earn enough money to cover our food, power and water. We are also going to send out a letter so that people have the opportunity to give monthly to us if they want to support us as fellow kingdom workers among the Chilean people.

We have been learning Spanish and much more during these past 6 months. God has been changing us so that He can use us to change people. We are able to be different here, It's been so good. We are full of self deceit and all the time worshiping our false heart idols. I know that He is changing us.

The Chileans are wonderful, warm people. They are intrigued, amused, and / or slightly alarmed by our family. They stare at us and listen to everything that we say. They are always watching us. It isn't because we are amazing. They stare because we have so many children, some have blonde hair and blue eyes, some are adopted and because we are gringo's. They want to know why we gave up everything to live among them. Can you imagine how great it would be to be able to speak Spanish well enough to answer them while we have all their attention?

There are people everywhere (Christians and non Christians) that are trapped in legalism or license. They don't walk in the freedom that Christ died to give them. We want to proclaim the gospel here through our lives, words, music, and our relationships.
