Last week in the city

This serious scholar is studying the Spanish bible after everyone else has gone to bed, (never mind that it's the children's bible). (You can't see the little fish that she uses to reveal the hidden encrypted words on every page.)
They have big corn here.

Naphtali pining for the caban. One week of cramped and noisy city life left.

After a couple years of discussion among the children, they finally settle on a plan for making beds. Ephraim's plan wins and they begin stitching the canvas (by hand).
It's wonderful to be able to oblige them and their crazy plans. We used to just say a patronizing, "that's nice dear". Then one day we realized that we really did need to make beds. So we turned a serious eye to the children's plans. "Do you really think that these beds will work? What do you need to get started?"
Ephraim and Asaph are camping out together this week. It's a great opportunity for them to fight it out (hopefully not literally) and let them have a chance to prepare a home for the rest of us.
It was hard for me to let them go. I hope that they are taking good care of themselves like; eating, praying and.... flossing etc.
Sim was given the task of shucking all the corn.
Lately, these canvas beds are spread all over the floor all day with people huddled around sewing them. Only Havilah and Ephraim had ever hand sewn before. They won't be like hammocks but instead will be stretched tight.
Zion said he couldn't do it.
He is actually very good at it.
Mama adding her stitches to encourage the others to keep going.
