Building without power tools and eating without dishes

Building Without Power Tools:
Leon came back after leaving Ephraim and Asaph at the cabin. We haven't been able to get a generator yet (because of the cost) and our solar system won't be delivered until next week. Therefore the boys are constructing the 10 beds and other things with no power tools. They borrowed a hand drill from our new neighbors and are using hand saws. They are quite fast and efficient. I was surprised. We will really need the power once we get there, though because we won't be able to power our refrigerator. Also, Leon and Ephraim are planning to make money using the computers.

What To Eat Today:
Ephraim, Havilah and either Zion or Asaph shop at La Vega or the Feria every day and spend an average of 8 mil per day (that's 16 dollars). They buy an assortment of things including; melons, potatoes, eggs, potatoes, peaches, nectarines, carrots, potatoes, various peppers, Mote, whole chickens, cauliflower, cabbage, ginger, onions, bread and lots of potatoes. We hardly ever shop at the grocery store because it's more expensive.

How To Eat Today:
Leon's Candida has been a mixed blessing because it forces us to eat healthy at a time when we could easily justify eating whatever's easy. We've even been making Kombucha and sauerkraut. We have about 3 little mugs plus a couple empty honey containers that can hold food and drink and whatever else we need. We also eat out of a couple small pots. So, everyone sits on the floor and I serve the first few people the best that I can and then the others wait until the mug is available again   so that they can eat. It's pretty fun. Meal time takes a lot longer though. This morning I had to fry crispy potatoes in a pot three different times before everyone was served. It must have taken a couple hours. We finished off 5 Kilograms (11 pounds) of, fresh from the ground, potatoes. Long ago we stopped asking if there was any ketchup. Everyone has learned to be thankful. I always wanted to teach that to the children but it's kind of hard to teach thankfulness when we have everything that we could ever want. We certainly have everything that we need, and much more.

Most Important:
God is so good to make us painfully aware of our heart idols and areas of ugliness. Some day, we will be more like Jesus and will not have the ugliness that we see today. Then He will be so good to make us painfully aware of our heart idols and ugliness that we can't see today.

Laundry:
We are washing the laundry in the bath every other day and hanging it inside. With the exception of Lazuli's little diapers which we wash every time she wets one and then hang it right away. That way we only need about 10 diapers and 3 covers and we never run out. At first we were generating too much laundry. Once we limited the towels and pants to be washed per week, the laundry became manageable.

Last Sunday:
Tomorrow is our last Sunday with the group that we've come to love. They are sending us out. Please pray that we can find other believers to fellowship with in our new town.
