Yesterday, a sweet older lady walked close to me, put her hand on my abdomen and said, "hombre". So, there you go. The predictions for boy outnumber the predictions for girl. If only Leon would let it be Leon junior. I would be so proud and hope that he would be just like his Papa.
The high school age youth in Santiago always surprise me by walking around hand in hand with each other. Even the young men greet with touch and will walk around holding the arm of a grandma or sister. They give the traditional Chilean kiss to my daughters when they are parting from the soccer field. I get kissed every time I meet anyone or part from anyone. They don't care that I'm not Chilean, they treat me like I am. I feel lovely and respected around people of all ages here.
