waiting and laughing

I pray for the birthing process to be peaceful and joyful.
I'm trying not to be stuck in a waiting frame of mind. However, my thoughts tend to be very self oriented right now which is a little irritating to me (and I'm sure others).

Some other things we are thinking of are:
Leon is almost done with the Yum album which has been 10 years in the making. We are almost ready to mix it down.
We are also planning to get a goat for milking. We have to put up a fence first. When this is done, Ephraim and Havilah will be in charge of the milking and goat care. Our friends have goats with yummy milk that give about a gallon a day each. They have offered to sell us a couple. Good raw milk is expensive and we can't buy enough to make yoghurt or cheese. We can rarely enjoy the luxury of a glass all around.

Here is something that rivals the new baby in excitement; After 10 years of waiting and who knows how long of God preparing us, we have finally spent our (God's) first adoption dollar. "Thank you God for imparting to us your love for these children and letting our hearts swell with desire to pour into these lives for which you died. May we never count of less worth the children the world calls un-valuable."
It's such an unlikely time for God to be moving on this. We are very tight financially, Leon's back is really hurting him much of the time, We are expecting a baby any day, and we just moved to a different state. We do not feel at our strongest to take on a huge difficult journey which I'm sure adoption will be. We feel pretty incapable of accomplishing something difficult yet, we know that to not take these next steps today would be disobedience to our Lord. Therefore we can laugh and watch and wait to see what God will do.
