Sim. Written 2015 and never posted

We got a call that Simeon had to come home. He is a dangerous person so naturally all of our efforts were focused on keeping everyone safe emotionally and physically. His visit turned out to be good for everyone. He saw again how wonderful it could be to have a family, yet he turned it down again. He is not willing to obey the parents here and with out that, we cannot make the home safe for everyone. We placed him in a licensed residential care facility, where they are equipped to care for him without anyone being endangered. He didn't say, "goodby". He never does. He doesn't even glance over his shoulder, but runs off happily to play with strangers. That is very typical for Reactive Attachment Disorder. It was good for our other children to see that we are not afraid of him anymore and they don't need to be afraid either. It was also good for Simeon to have it clear that no one kicked him out. We want him to be part of what we have, but he is not willing.
During this time, Ephraim has been working on a house remodel in Shelton. He really enjoys the work and is good at it. Asaph is also good at this kind of work and he was able to work with Ephraim some of the time when he wasn't in school.
We all went to visit for Havilah's 18th birthday celebration. We had a slumber party amid the construction work. I'm really in my element "making due", sleeping on the hard floor, finding ways to feed everyone and have a fun time doing all that. The lack of sleep triggered a migraine. My family took care of me, and the breakfast that I planned to make for everyone, was made by Leon and some of the children instead. I enjoyed it cold several hours later and was thankful.

Those are the biggest things right now but they are not the important things. As you know, the important things are the things that happen every day all around us.
Elsie was sorry for kicking Zuriel and told her so. The smoke from Naphtali's fire has been bringing it's fragrance in the house all day.  Zion smiled a real smile right into my eyes today (a big achievement for someone with RAD). I took time out to roll around on the trampoline in the sun with Nehemiah. Even hearing the boys bounce a basketball out front enriches my life,, if my heart is open to it, which it often isn't.
