Back on line in Chile

This is the first chance I've had to blog since we moved into our cabin around Feb. 1st. We are busy from before sunrise until after dark and we have not had any internet except for a few minutes here and there. We are busy because we have had to cook all our meals (for 12 people) on the campfire outside until a week ago when we got a one burner propane camp stove. Bathing is important to us. To accomplish a bath we have to stand on a towel and get clean using a mug of cold water and a washcloth. Just yesterday though, Leon and the boys solved the puzzle of the bathtub and I was able to have the little ones stand in the tub for the sponge bath. I even heated the water first on the stove. I felt like such a good mama. Then to do our hair we were going outside. Now we can stand in the tub. We wash with baking soda water, condition with vinegar water and then rinse. We use the smallest amount of water possible, usually cold to save propane. I need to post this now before the computer shuts down on me. I want to share more about the way we are living right now. After all I've said, you may be thinking, "that sounds terrible!"
I have to say, my life is incredibly difficult right now but we are all Loving it. This experience is the perfect thing that each of us needs right now. This is the most amazing home schooling project that we've ever been able to give to the children. We are in serious gospel boot camp.
Ephraim and Asaph built 2 sets of bunks that have 3 canvas beds. They also built 4 beds that hang from the ceiling. They are really just glorified hammocks that are so tight they are almost flat.
Here is our church sanctuary and fellowship hall. Please pray that more brave Chileans will come to hear the shortest sermon in the worst Spanish of all Chile. At least the food is good, sort of. We have had: boiled potatoes, rice, boiled potatoes and rice on the four Sundays that we've met here.
Thank you all for your love. We all need the gospel, don't we.
