The men come home

We all went together to pick up Leon and Ephraim from the airport this morning. They'd been in Portland for a full month getting their TEFL/TESL certificates. It's so good to have them back.
While The men were gone Havilah was the oldest child and I was in control of our whole group from morning until night. We talked on the way to the airport about how we had filled in for them while they were away but now we had to give them back their places. We who are strong leaders, had to willingly step down and yield our positions. We knew that doing this gracefully would make our relationships beautiful and not doing it would make us ugly and make everyone miserable.
Now we are all sitting on the floor where the table used to be enjoying the full family that God gave us. Elsie wipes her hands on her dress, Ephraim somehow gets out of eating his salad and the 11, 12 and 13 year old boys eat every last bite of food available, while Leon explains how the new, 'bullying rule', is going to work. We are happy to be a whole family again full of broken people.
