A Note To A Friend

For a while I found my value and identity in being a minimalist. Then for a while my identity was on my righteous acts. I have come back to the gospel in it's all encompassing simplicity. My identity has to be only in Christ. I may value home schooling, eating healthfully, not watching t.v., using the ESV bible, voting Constitution etc. but, that's not who I am and that's not what I am passionate about 'you' being. If you feel like you're not as 'good' as me when you are around me than Neither one of us is walking in the gospel.
Truly, we are all losers and Jesus is the hero. He causes us to be sanctified because He is so great. At the same time, He is our King Papa and we are compelled to totally surrender to Him and His use of us. Yes, we surrender in helpless love and dependence, we lay our head down on His breast.

Great post on identity in Christ!

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
