our trip, retreat registration

We are excited about the Above Rubies family retreat. I can't remember all the people that I promised to send the registration information to so I am just putting it on this blog at the end. I've never attended this retreat so I don't know where they are as far as doctrine goes. I have agreed with what I've read so far. I have heard Nancy speak and it was wonderful.

We had a great time on our vacation. We stayed with the Swansons for half the time and the other half was my family reunion at the CBCC. The time with the Swansons was very rich. We got to see the Dimmick family, the Simonatti's, Westcotts, Leons folks and sister, my dad and step mom, our niece and nephews, the Flechtners, and I'm probably missing someone. We went to X-fest and saw many old friends and made a couple new ones.
The time at CBCC was fun. The best parts were watching the children play on the beach (my face was sore from laughing at their antics), also getting to introduce Nehemiah to my family and showing him off to everyone I saw. We enjoyed the speaker very much and learned from him but, he touched on so many subjects that we wished he would go more in depth with. Perhaps he didn't want to offend anybody.
We are glad to be home. We arrived Monday night around midnight and the first one to get sick was Naphtali (3) who woke up 5 hours later with a croupy cough. He received the usual medicine of a steamy shower and lay on the couch most of the day.

Adoption Update: Angels Haven called. They said that the Liberian Consulate is pausing all adoption from Liberia for an unspecified length of time. This is due to many adoptions being processed with unlicensed agencies. We were told that Ethiopia is an option for us if we adopted children over 5. Also, Gana is open. Liberia would be cheaper. Leon and I are totally open to whatever God wants to use our home and family for.
On our trip we heard about one little girl and a set of three siblings who needed families. We were open but, I don't think God's placing them in our family. It's wonderful to be open and ready. God places the lonely in families. There are many children without families still so I believe that he will use our family if we put ourselves in his hands and trust him.
