I am writing from home. I love my home.,, usually. Its beautiful and the candles glow like the color of honey off of the uncovered wooden walls. We spent all day gathering wood, washing laundry, preparing food and two people went to get the produce in Valparaiso.
I am looking forward to seeing all of you again although, honestly, I'm not much looking forward to leaving my new life here in Chile.
I love being a missionary where people actually listen to my crazy news about Jesus. Old women come to my door for dry tea and blankets after their house leaks. Strangers can direct visitors to our cabin because everyone knows where "the Christians", live. Jehovahs witnesses come regularly (a different group every time) and the gospel is so simple that I can speak about it in Spanish. Single ladies ask us to help them repair fences and other things.
Admittedly, I am tired. I want people to leave me alone and stop speaking Spanish all the time. It's so annoying. I want a hot shower and to stop losing sleep because of picking bugs off my arms and legs at night. However, after the thrill of indoor bathrooms and lights wears off, I will probably wish I could be here in Chile helping the vecinos feel uncomfortable enough to think about what they believe.
We are excited about the work that God gave us to do here in Chile and we look forward to seeing you all. We wait to see how God will use us to proclaim the gospel with our words, lives and relationships, in the U.S.A, back here in Chile or elsewhere around the world. We are looking forward to participating with you in the services of love that you also are offering to Him.
