We have accepted two brothers who are 6 and 8 years old. We think their names are Simeon and Patrick. They need a family and we are one. We would be honored if the Lord would place these lonely in our family.
Miracles Of Provision
God's hand: The Croteau's brought us a bunch of clothes, shoes and food that someone had given them to share. We had so much that we took half of it to another family and are still eating some of it every day.
We were able to purchase 50 pound bags of potatoes and onions for $5 a piece. Mr. Croteau purchased 4,600 pounds and has been able to sell the extra bags for a profit. We personally bought 7 - 50 pound bags of potatoes and 5 bags of onions. It is easy to use many potatoes to feed our families but, I could use some advice on the onions. If you have some good recipes that use LOTS of onions, please send them to me via comments.
At the same time, we were able to purchase cabbages for 19 cents per pound. Mr. Croteau bought 250 pounds of those to share. Then, driving home he saw 3 large bales of high grade alfalfa that had fallen of a truck. The Lord had even provided for our goats.
We were also able to go to a u-pick apple orchard and pick apples for $5 per box. We bought 10 boxes. We had such a wonderful day picking and enjoying the children and each other. We now have our freezer full of apple pie filling, apple crisp filling, applesauce and apple butter.
We were given a free freezer which will soon be full of sheep meat recently slaughtered on our mini farm. Even our chickens obey their creator and give us 4-8 eggs every day and an occasional chicken soup.
One of the most enjoyable ways for us to spend the day together is in cutting down dead trees, splitting and stacking it for our heat. Working with the Croteau's takes so much of the burden out of the big task and it is fun for everyone. A couple times we have been able to build a bonfire to clean up the woods. One of the fires was so huge that it burned all through the night and in the morning we put potatoes in the ashes. Those were the best potatoes we ever ate. We put Havilah's homemade butter on them. WOW!
Can God make food out of thin air? Yes.
